Electronic Self Representation (eSR)

• Obtain credit counseling from a court-approved credit counseling agency.  The law requires credit counseling within 180 days before the bankruptcy filing date.  For a list of approved agencies click here.
   
• Collect all financial documents before you begin, such as:
  • A list of real property (real estate) you own, it's value, and a mortgage statement showing current loan balance.
  • A list of personal property (e.g., household goods, vehicles, jewelry, etc.) you own and their values.
  • Names and addresses of all the people to whom you owe money.
  • Income documentation such as pay stubs, W-2s, or proof of income from other sources such as social security, disability, etc.
• Start using eSR by clicking here.
  • Create a user profile, login, and password.
  • Answer questions about your property, income, and debts.  When you are finished, hit submit.

Upon your submission of the Electronic Bankruptcy Package, you will be sent an email confirmation.  This confirmation contains important instructions for the submission of additional items identified below that are required to complete your bankruptcy filing.  It is important to understand that your bankruptcy case is not filed unless and until the Court receives these required additional items.

You must provide the clerk with the following additional items.  They must be completed, signed, and either delivered by mail, provided to the court in-person during regular business hours or via the after hours drop boxes located in each courthouse, or emailed to the address contained in your email confirmation,.  If the clerk does not receive your additional items, then your Electronic Bankruptcy Package will not be processed.

• Statement About Your Social Security Numbers (Official Form 121)

If you are married and your spouse is filing with you, then both you and your spouse must complete and sign both the Declaration Regarding Electronic Filing  (Local Form R) and the Statement About Your Social Security Numbers (Official Form 121).

An automatic stay (injunction) is NOT in effect until a bankruptcy case number is issued by the bankruptcy court.  The clerk will mark your case filed and a case number will be issued after the Declaration Regarding Electronic Filing and Statement About Your Social Security Numbers are received.

These items must be submitted within 14 days after a case is filed or the case may be dismissed by the Court.  You must deliver them in person to the Clerk's Office during regular business hours, by mail, or via the after hours drop boxes located in each courthouse these additional items:

• Filing fee
  • Payment of the full amount of the filing fee, or
  • Completed Application to Pay in Installments (Form B103A), or
  • Completed Application to Waive the Filing Fee (Form B103B)
• Copy of a Certification of Credit Counseling
   
• Verification of Creditor Matrix
