Court Offices Will Be Closed For The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2019. The after hours drop box for the Greenbelt Division will not be available; however, the after hours drop box for the Baltimore Division, 101 W. Lombard Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 will be available. Electronic filing through CM/ECF will remain available during this time. 

Bankruptcy Court Open During Government Shutdown

Despite a partial government shutdown, the Federal Judiciary and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland are open and will continue normal operations during regular business hours until further notice, by using court fee balances and other funds not dependent on a new appropriation. Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) also remains in operation for electronic filing of documents.

Amendments to Local Bankruptcy Rules – Effective December 1, 2018

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland has approved, effective December 1, 2018, amendments to Local Bankruptcy Rules 5005-1, 7005-2, and 9013-4.  The amendments are necessitated by changes to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure that will take effect December 1, 2018.  To view the Administrative Order implementing the amendments and a redlined copy of the amended rules, please click here.

Order Amending Local Bankruptcy Rules 5005-1, 7005-2 and 9013-4
