Debtor's Social Security Number and Privacy

On December 1, 2003 the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedures were modified to place a restriction on public access to debtor's SSN and financial account numbers.  Click here to see the link to see the notice of enactment of these privacy rules. The only place where a debtor's full SSN will appear is on the printed version of the 341 meeting of creditors notice mailed to creditors as per FRBP 2002(a)(1). The 341 meeting of creditors notice available electronically on PACER will show only the last four digits of the SSN.
