The U.S.B.C. Pro Bono Panel
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court's pro se filings are on the rise and struggling pro se parties can complicate a case for all parties involved. The Court's pro bono panel is utilized by the Court's Bankruptcy Judges to assist pro se debtors, who have already filed for bankruptcy and are found to need further assistance.
Referrals to the Court's panel are presumed to be pro bono eligible cases, where the debtor has been determined to have financial need by the referring Bankruptcy Judge. If a panel attorney determines that a debtor has substantial income and/or assets to pay an attorney fee, an application for such may be submitted to the Court.
Attorneys can register for the Court’s Pro Bono Panel through the online Volunteer Registration Form For additional information about the Court’s Pro Bono Panel, contact the Court's Pro Bono Coordinator at 410-962-3813 or Ronda_Washington@mdb.uscourts.gov
